Hand crafted Traditional Irish Banjos and other fretted instruments
With over 40 years of experience as a banjo player in Shaskeen Tom Cussen of Clareen Banjos creates suitable instruments for any banjo enthusiast. You don’t have to be a pro to appreciate the clear sound and unique feel of our fretted and stringed instruments, which resonate in the hands of every player.
Hand crafted with great care and 100% Irish material whenever possible, you can find banjos for beginners, like our basic “The Bridge” (imported) banjo, which can be tweaked or altered according to preferences, or move up to professional levels with the Special Tenor editions, Oyster banjos, Elite banjos, or the ultimate Setanta hand engraved banjos in either gold or nickel. Feel free to view this video showing Tom Cussen’s workmanship in the process of making such a banjo. Each instrument can be fitted according to preferences, and we also provide full repair and restoration services for most fretted instruments.
Alongside banjos, we have an expanded guitar stock that includes Gallagher, Stanford, Seagull, Simon & Patrick and many more guitars which you are welcome to view in our designated guitar showroom. We also provide both new and second hand banjos, mandolins, guitars, tenor guitars, fiddles and many more instruments.
